Killigrew St. 2017

Me, Myself + I.

After studying photography for a year in sixth form and a further two years in college, I moved on to attend Falmouth University to study BA (hons) Photography. A year and a half later, I began to feel that Falmouth wasn't the right fit for me, so I moved from Cornwall, back home to London, and transferred to Kingston University to complete my second and third year.

Photography and art has been a reoccurring factor in my life. Since I was small, my father has always been a photography enthusiast, my grandfather has always been a skilled painter, a talent which he passed on to my sister, who went on to study and excel in art at school. Lacking the talent to paint and not having the best of drawing skills, I proceeded to find an interest in photography. My family have continuously encouraged me to pursue my passion and have shared my emotions in the best and worst of times.

Five years later and now 22, I am still in love with photography and many other art forms.

All Work, No Play.

Finding my feet was a struggle for me. I identify as a documentary photographer as it is my most comfortable and personal form of expression. Although it is a heavy contrast to being in the moment, I love constructing narratives within photographs and being in complete control of every variable. I am still experimenting with who I am as a photographer, so I am always ready to grab every opportunity and trust that I have the knowledge to be the best I can be. I am continuously pushing myself to learn new skills and I am lucky enough to have had many opportunities to meet photographers and artists from other mediums, listen to them speak about their work and share their passion for their art form.
